Project Type
Gable up / flat roof dormer, two bedrooms, wetroom
linked.
Project Description
This property originally had a hipped roof, so
to accommodate two bedrooms and a bathroom, we have built the gable
up to allow for a flat roof dormer to the rear. The gable can be
built up in face brickwork, render, or by hanging tiles or slate.
This is dependent on your roof covering and preference.
What makes this conversion different is from the
beginning of the project the client wanted the space in their loft
to be a retreat for them as parents to be able to relax and have
their own space. As a company we enjoy being challenged and being
able to design and build the loft to our customers specification.
We suggested a flat roof glass rooflight over
the bed in the main room and which sheds light and gives contemporary
look. What is not clear in the photos you can use the wetroom from
either bedroom, at present the front bedroom in the loft is being
used as an office, the sound system can be heard throughout the
loft through built in speaks, and the break in the wall allows light
and air from all six of the windows to flow freely around the loft
space.
Additional extras
Glass rooflight, floating corain shelf, wetroom
floor, bespoke glass screen, speaker system.
